Oregon’s Chemawa Indian School is the oldest continuously-operating Native boarding school in the country and 84 Tribes are represented among the student body. The reports of abuse, fraud, & mismanagement at Chemawa are deeply troubling to me as a parent, advocate for equity in education, & policy maker.
